Re: Viking Engine

I am one foolish enough to give him an initial deposit at AirVenture last year. I take solace in knowing I've only lost $1000 and not $13000. Expensive lesson, but a valuable one. I would probably buy a Viking if a reputable company bought the design and supported it. I think its a pretty neat engin...

Re: Airventure 2012

My son and I will be at the concert and have a vehicle. We intend on heading over after the concert. We have a seat. The car will be at Camp Scholler.
Send me a private message on this board and we can exchange info.

Re: AirVenture 2012

My son and I will be at Sonex for the Monday night party.
We'll be driving in on Monday morning to Camp Scholler, and leaving Wednesday afternoon.
Anyone needing ground support just email me. We have room to take gear to and from OSH back to Denver.

Re: Limbach L2400 engine

Cool motor. Never heard of it. I would think it has a standard VW case and therefore will mount to the standard VW mount. Looks like port fuel injection. That could be a huge benefit, or a huge pain in the butt. Great if it works, pain if it doesn't. I do like the water cooled heads. makes it simila...

Re: Viking Engine

I think the new Viking Onex nose looks pretty damn good. I will hold my final vote until we can see how it looks with the windshield and canopy. I think it helps tremendously improving the boxy look of the Sonex. To tell the truth, I don't like the Viking/Sonex cowl. It just doesn't look right. Too ...

Re: Viking Engine

Putting a 15lb battery furthest aft possible in an aircraft is a HUGE indicator that the aircraft is not well balanced for that design. Now say you want to take advantage of the new LION batteries and save some weight. They produce the same power but only weigh 3 lbs. Now if you have a Viking, you n...

Re: Viking Engine

Looks like Jan found the solution to the balance issue. By mounting the battery in the furthest aft section of the tail.

Re: Viking Engine

The problem is the Viking forum is controlled with an iron fist by Eggenfelner. He will not allow any post that questions his products or puts him in a bad light. I think that puts him in a bad light. Why has he been so evasive on the RV12 weights? You would think that if his weights were comparable...
