Hi Ed,

You can adjust the brake cable tension where the cable is attached to the lever attached to the brake drum. Just loosen the nut, pull the cable through a bit, and retighten the nut.

Hi Ed,

I'll email you with a response to your original questions, but with regards to your brakes, I totally agree with what you've read already. A visual check of the brakes can't hurt just to ensure there's no issues with the shoes and drums (make sure the drums rotate freely outside the shoes), and then like Michael said, you can adjust the brake cable tension so it's a little tighter. This should allow you to get a little more leverage on the brake handle. Try that and let us know how it works for you!

Mike, are you at EAA this year? I have brake adjustment questions and MGL V6 Radio issues. Can we talk or get together this coming Wednesday?

Michael, I'm bad at catching emails & responses, as you can see. I just found your response to my June message on brakes. Info is helpful. Hope we can meet up on Wednesday. I'm going to be at the cook out at Wayne Daniels place in OSH on this Wed. Will you be there also?
