N116YX moved under its own power today. I taxied to the end of the hangars did a beautiful 180 and taxied back. All systems green except the damn radio which was working fine last year when I last tested it.
Getting real close to my DAR inspection.

N116YX passed the airworthiness inspection by the DAR today! Yeah! She's ready to go!
I'm planning first flight in a week or so. I need to get the pink slip and operating limitations from the DAR and acceptance of my Phase 1 flight test area from the FSDO. I also need a few more transition flights in my hangar mates Sonex. Maybe next weekend. Pucker factor is engaged.

First flight today.
Plane flew better than could be expected. Literally hands off. Engine perfect. Rigging perfect. Weather not so perfect. Had a good 10knot crosswind on landing, but she handled it well. Not my best landing but good enough. I did bend my flaps handle though. Adrenaline I'm sure. 30 minutes into my 40 hours. WOO HOO! Video to follow.

Awesome Job! I'm glad to hear the first flight went so well....following your posts for the last couple years I've seen how much effort you've put into your project. What an accomplishment....please keep us updated on your phase 1 flying...
