Hello Tim,

Thanks for the note! I hope you have fun on the build of your AeroVee for your Waiex. Just out of curiousity, what is the serial number of your engine? When I started this thread I mistyped my #...I have number #0631, bought in May 2011.

As for your questions, I refrenced the online AeroConversions assembly manual for the parts I needed:

http://www.aeroconversions.com/support/manuals.html

The big items you'll need from Sonex are:

ACV-P01-56: straight (unported) oil pump
ACV-P01-106: oil cooler mounting plate
ACV-Z01-80: M8-1.25x20mm button head screw

Take a look at the manual, page 53 for more information as well as the AN hardware you'll need to install the oil cooler.

I received my oil cooler itself from www.cbperformance.com , part # 1727. Look here:

http://www.cbperformance.com/ProductDet ... tCode=1727

I think it's around $42 plus shipping.

I'm not sure how many other Sonex/Waiex people have done this mod, but like I said I'm very happy with it. It will take a modification to the engine baffling kit for the Sonex; I needed to fabricate a "tunnel" that connects the back of the cooler to an opening I cut into the back of the baffling in order to allow air to flow through the cooler and out the back of the baffling. You'll need to do this or you may run into warm oil temps. It looks like that's the new standard for the Onex baffling system so Sonex can probably sell you the parts you'll need. Otherwise, it's a fairly simple setup.

I can take more pics of mine if you need any, just let me know!

Thanks!
Mike
